New in this Release
Yocto
Yocto Update: Update to 6.0.3 (Wrynose)
TI Firmware Update: Update TI firmware to v12.01.02
Ethernet Names: Previously, ethernet interfaces had alternate names in the form of ethX. These alternate names have been removed and interfaces can only be referred to by endX names.
Partup: partup is now v4.0.0 (updated from v3.0.0)
Linux Kernel
Kernel Update: Update to v6.18.38 (tag: v6.18.38-12.01.00.05-phy6) based on TI SDK v12.01.00.05
TI SDK Update: Bump from TI Processor SDK v11.02.11 to v12.01.00.05
OLDI Overlays: OLDI device tree bindings have changed, so the contents of the OLDI overlays has been reworked. The overlay names and functionality are unchanged.
U-Boot Bootloader
Bootloader Update: Update to U-Boot v2026.01-12.01.00.05 (tag: v2026.01-12.01.00.05-phy6)
Issues Fixed
eMMC Backup Boot Mode: Fixed an issue where eMMC as a backup bootmode was not detected.
Flashcp Command: Fixed an issue where OSPI reads would be corrupted immediately after writing.
Known Issues
CAN FD: CAN does not work at 125KHz.
MIPI DSI Backlight: The backlight PWM polarity of the LCD282 display overlay is inverted, so the backlight is almost off at the default brightness. Brightness level 1 is the brightest. See Display for the workaround.
Software Versioning
The BSP-Yocto-Ampliphy-AM62Px-PD26.2.0 software release is largely based off of Texas Instruments’s v12.01.00.05 Processor SDK Linux release and shares much of the same components and features.

Linux Device Tree Summary
This is a summary of how the device tree source files (.dts) and the various include files (.dtsi) are broken down in the kernel. These files describe the hardware in a hierarchical and modular way to the kernel, connecting device drivers to the interfaces brought out by the carrier board.
Hardware Target |
Device Tree File Descriptions |
Filename |
|---|---|---|
KPB-08137-ALPHA.A1 (Default Kit) |
Default Device Tree (includes the other .dtsi files below) |
k3-am62p5-phyboard-lynx.dts |
Processor .dtsi - This file adds general support for the AM62Px Processor from Texas Instruments |
k3-am62p.dtsi |
|
SOM .dtsi- This file adds support for your specific SOM’s population options |
k3-am62p-phycore-som.dtsi |
If designing your own custom carrier board around the phyCORE-AM62Px SOM, you will eventually define a custom device tree for your board that includes the .dtsi file for the SOM, which PHYTEC has provided for you. All the BSP changes custom for your application should eventually be consolidated into its own Meta Layer.
