New in this Release
Yocto
Yocto Update: Update to 6.0.3 (Wrynose)
TI Firmware Update: Update TI firmware to v12.01.02
Ethernet Names: Previously, ethernet interfaces had alternate names in the form of ethX. These alternate names have been removed and interfaces can only be referred to by endX names.
Partup: partup is now v4.0.0 (updated from v3.0.0)
Linux Kernel
Kernel Update: Update to v6.18.38 (tag: v6.18.38-12.01.00.05-phy6) based on TI SDK v12.01.00.05
TI SDK Update: Update to TI Processor SDK Linux v12.01.00.05.03, using the 12.01.00.05 component baseline
OLDI Overlay: OLDI device tree bindings have changed, so the contents of the OLDI overlay have been reworked. The overlay name and functionality are unchanged.
U-Boot Bootloader
Bootloader Update: Update to U-Boot v2026.01-12.01.00.05 (tag: v2026.01-12.01.00.05-phy7)
Issues Fixed
flashcp Command: Fixed an issue where OSPI reads would be corrupted immediately after writing.
Audio: Fixed an issue where audio recording did not work.
Known Issues
USB 0: usb0 works as a DFP (host) only on .1 carrier boards.
USB 1: usb1 is only capable of USB 2.0 on .1 carrier boards.
CAN FD: CAN does not work at 125KHz.
USB in U-Boot: USB storage devices are not detected in U-Boot.
Software Versioning
The BSP-Yocto-Ampliphy-AM67x-PD26.1.0 software release is largely based on Texas Instruments’ v12.01.00.05.03 Processor SDK Linux release and shares much of the same components and features.

Linux Device Tree Summary
This is a summary of how the device tree source files (.dts) and the various include files (.dtsi) and overlays (.dtso) are broken down in the kernel. These files describe the hardware in a hierarchical and modular way to the kernel, connecting device drivers to the interfaces brought out by the carrier board.
Hardware Target |
Device Tree File Descriptions |
Filename |
|---|---|---|
KPB-08036-001.A0 (Default Kit) |
Default Device Tree (includes the other .dtsi files below) |
k3-am6754-phyboard-rigel.dts |
Processor .dtsi - This file adds general support for the AM67x (Jacinto J722S) Processor from Texas Instruments |
k3-j722s.dtsi |
|
SOM .dtsi - This file adds support for your specific SOM’s population options |
k3-am67-phycore-som.dtsi |
If designing your own custom carrier board around the phyCORE-AM67x SOM, you will eventually define a custom device tree for your board that includes the .dtsi file for the SOM, which PHYTEC has provided for you. All the BSP changes custom for your application should eventually be consolidated into its own Meta Layer.
Supported Boot Sources
The phyCORE-AM67x can load a bootloader from several sources.
